Live Action - Anthony Mathile

Do What’s NaturalBiography

Merrelll

Anthony’s work is characterized by a highly crafted, cinematic approach to storytelling and documentary. He has immersively captured world class musicians, celebrities and superstars in their element and created captivating content for global brands and audiences. He’s also the nicest guy.

Anthony’s musical journey began at age three when he strung a shoe box with rubber bands and taught himself violin bow technique. His experiments with sound continued at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where he built sound installations such as water dripping from a lightbulb that influenced the tempo of his avant-garde computer noodlings.

A sudden phone call changed the scale of his projects dramatically and two days later he was boarding a plane which led to a three year world tour making documentaries on such humble acts as David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, The Police, and Genesis. After picking up numerous awards, including a platinum disc from EMI, he felt that he’d exhausted the collective gene pool of aging rock stars and settled down in Brooklyn, NY. From here he began to hone his storytelling skills and focus on bringing a highly crafted and cinematic style to his documentary work.

Since then he has created numerous music videos and original content series for brands like Heineken, Intel, adidas, Vice and Beats by Dre. More importantly he produced a 12 song Christmas album with his friends in 2010, with a remix album slated for the Summer of 2016. When he’s not making films or bragging about his accomplishments, he is busy writing music, building furniture in his wood shop, and thinking about the wonderful sound of rubber bands on a shoe box.
