Scott Thrift is the founder of m ss ng p eces and responsible for its name. He is also a passionate director who has crafted hundreds of sharply edited experimental short films that ask great questions about the world we live in, and through brilliant cinematography bring forward the beauty and essence of life. He created Cool Hunting Video, RESET, a series for Sundance, and the awards film for the Tribeca Film Festival. When he's not making films Scott is working on other creative endeavors like his most recent project: ThePresent, the first ever annual clock that tells the time in seasons.

Thrift listens to the abstract desires of global culture and produces digital and analog objects that reflect & enrich the human experience. After spending thousands of hours capturing and manipulating the light and sound of raw footage, he has formed a unique relationship with the value of time.
