April 20th, a.k.a. 420: A day steeped in haze and tradition, celebrated by enthusiasts of a particular green herb. But this year, the air is filled with an aroma more tantalizing than any strain of white widow or purple haze - the unmistakable scent of KFC’s Saucy Nuggets.

Welcome to the launch of the KFC Nugget Dispensary, the first of its kind, where the nuggs are breaded, and the only thing getting baked is our signature chicken.

Along with KFC, m ss ng p eces created a unique pop-up that could be enjoyed by cannabis and non-cannabis consumers alike. The event was designed to provide a memorable twist on 4/20 promotions and carefully crafted to align with KFC's brand values of innovation, fun, and delicious food and reinforce KFC's passion for creating unique experiences.

We took over the storefront next door to MedMen on Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice, CA - a prime spot for boutique dispensaries (and 4/20 stoners). We meticulously designed a faithful representation of a classic LA dispensary. From puffer pods for guests to sniff the herbs and spices, to full glass display cabinets featuring items that break down flavor profiles, our execution was spot-on accurate with bespoke, bold artwork everywhere. We designed the flow of the dispensary to accommodate maximum traffic while ensuring each guest has a relaxing and enjoyable experience. (It is a dispensary, after all.)

After an exclusive press/influencer preview, we opened our doors to long lines of eager attendees. Once inside, a team of "Sauce-perts" and “Nugg-tenders” led by chef/influencer Ian Fujimoto, were stationed at each of the five different flavor stations. Guiding over 1,000 guests through the experience, they explained the ingredients and flavors in each sauce, offering opportunities to smell and sample each of KFC's limited edition flavors: Georgia Gold, Nashville Hot, Sticky Chicky, Sriracha Honey and Korean BBQ. (The herbs for KFC's top-secret Original Recipe were covered in blacked-out boxes.)

A friendly nuggtender backed a bowl of each guest's preferred Saucy Nugget flavor, handed them sweet KFC swag, and gave them a $10 gift card for a future KFC order. Then, off to our back patio to chow down in our “Chill Zone,” with comedian Niles Abston working the crowd to keep vibes... well, high.

It was an absolute hit. The event drew in over 1000 hungry attendees who consumed some 15,000 Nuggets in a single day. But the impact reached far beyond our dispensary walls. Our Nugget dispensary had over 1 billion earned impressions with 36 media placements, 120+ social mentions, and roughly 80 posts from both paid and earned influencers and guests. Additionally, 195 guests signed up for KFC's new Rewards app. Guests and press alike couldn't stop raving about the pairup behind our dispensary experience:

Nuggs and herbs - always a perfect match.
