Jona Bechtolt and Claire Evans are performing and making music, as well as objects, events, texts, video, products, websites, and other miscellaneous things.
Their new album, I Thought The Future Would Be Cooler, is out now after nearly four years inthe making. Jona and Claire have been doing all kinds of projects around its release, like sending people faxes and making drone videos—you can browse them all here.
YACHT started as Jona’s solo venture in 2002, only to double in size when Claire joined in 2008. Since 2010, YACHT’s live performances have included our very best friend Bobby Birdman as a player, collaborator, and irreplaceable addition to the enterprise.
They’re usually always up to something. They have a line of sunglasses. They built an app, called 5 Every Day, that tells you five interesting things to do in Los Angeles every day. Claire is a writer and science fiction editor, and her work is all over the internet. Start Googling and you’ll find lots more seemingly unrelated projects and ephemera. It’s all related.
