Google wanted a unique and engaging way to celebrate its new Pixel 9 smartphone and major updates to its AI product, Gemini. Why not throw the perfect afterparty?

We were tasked to create a 30-minute live-to-tape show following Google's Made by Google announcement. With a VIP list of celebrities and influencers, we'd invite viewers to join the afterparty and watch as our celebs play with the products in our exclusive Google space. We thought of everything you'd expect from the coolest nightclub: a mini-bar, VIP lounge, DJ, neon lights, even a giant disco mirror ball G.
Keke Palmer was the perfect energetic host, keeping the party going with a string of fun hors d'oeuvres-sized segments. Our all-star lineup of guests would help us take the products down from the technobabble clouds into casual scenarios and conversations about using these features in real life.
Every beat of this afterparty offered a surprise for our viewers - a little something for everyone. At the mini-bar, Trixie Mattel and Mońet x Change made mocktails and posed for Pixel's camera. Sean Evans and Google SVP Rick Osterloh handled the heat of a mini Hot Ones interview. Amelia Dimoldenberg of Chicken Shop Date chatted with superstar basketball player Jimmy Butler, influencer Tayllor Lloyd, and YouTuber Mark Rober. Google engineer Kenny Sulaimon played with (so many) puppies. Joe Ando created the perfect dress for Keke. And Jimmy Butler and Google's Dayl Butler took a trip to the sneaker shop for some new kicks.

Even though the look and feel and the star-studded guest list screamed "exclusive," this was created to be an afterparty everyone could enjoy: the sports fans, queen stans, hot wing enthusiasts, fashion authorities and puppy lovers alike. By visualizing each of the Pixel and Gemini features with celebs and shows they know and love, we brought a long-desired fun factor to a major tech announcement. 300k viewers tuned in for the party on day one.
